Registration for Use of the Data Interface

To access the Content Portal data interface and the information provided through it, registration is required. As part of the registration, you agree to the license terms (CC BY 4.0 and our supplementary terms) as well as the usage and protection provisions for operating the interface.

1. License Terms

The information provided via the Content Portal data interface operated by ASFINAG is subject to the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0) . The rights granted by this license remain fully in effect. In addition, the following supplementary terms apply:

  1. Attribution
    You must provide appropriate copyright and rights notices and indicate whether changes were made to the material. In broadcast media (radio, TV, spoken and visual streaming services), sources must be named analogously to the information, or a separate agreement must be made.
  2. Notification of Services
    You must inform us of your own services in which you use our information or information derived from it.
  3. Mention by Us
    You grant us the right, based on your attribution, to publicly communicate that we provide data to you. For this purpose, you grant us the right to use your word mark. We will phrase it as follows:
    provide traffic information on the current traffic situation in Austria (e.g., roadworks, accidents, closures).”
  4. Adoption and Unchanged Display of the Traffic Effect of Digitally Provided Regulations
    You must adopt digitally provided regulations that correspond to an official order and make reasonable efforts to display these unchanged in terms of their traffic effect in your own services. Corresponding information will be clearly marked by us in the data (type or compliance = mandatory vs. compliance = advisory).

Note: These supplementary terms do not alter or restrict any rights under the CC BY 4.0 license. In case of conflicts, the CC BY 4.0 license always applies.


2. Usage and Protection Provisions for the Data Interface

These provisions govern the technical and organizational framework for accessing the data interface.

Technical Safeguards

We are entitled to employ technical measures to ensure system stability. These include, among others, authentication, access control, monitoring, logging, abuse detection, and automatic load management. We may set and enforce load limits, including a restriction on maximum requests per minute or per user. In the event of overload, security risks, or other abusive behavior, we may temporarily or permanently restrict access.

Accuracy and Content Responsibility of the Data

Together with our partners, we continuously strive for high data quality and timeliness. However, complete freedom from errors or permanent accuracy of the provided information cannot be guaranteed. The source indicated in the data is solely responsible for the content accuracy and quality of the data.

Changes to the Interface

We reserve the right to change the format, content, structure, access methods, or technical parameters of the data interface at any time if required for operational, technical, or legal reasons. We strive to announce such changes in advance where reasonable.

Data Protection and Logging

As part of registration and use of the data interface, we process personal data, in particular the contact details provided during registration and the IP address automatically transmitted during access. These data are used for
